ARIZONA FUN

I never thought in a million years I would love Arizona so much . I always thought of Arizona as this boring, dry deserted place with a lot of cactuses and too much dry heat. I was surprised to find out that Arizona has no humidity and it’s so much more tolerable than other sunny states.

We stayed in Mesa for a week since we have family members that live there. We had plenty of time so we visited Scottsdale , Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Scottsdale is a super cute city. We enjoyed long walks ,saw plenty of wonderful art galleries and cute shops. We had lunch and coffee at this cute outdoor cafe called Schmooze.

Sedona was my favorite . Sedona’s warm climate and stunning scenery make this a great location for a short getaway or family travel adventure. This town has something for everyone . Hiking around cactuses, rock climbing, culture, great food, art galleries . If you like outdoor adventures there are a lot of activities in Sedona. Here are few trails and things to do:

Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village- Love this place! It's a outdoor market with art galleries, shops, craft, decorative arches and cobblestone paths.

Red rock state park- we enjoyed the trails with stunning scenery.

The Cathedral Rock Trail is a moderate , short beautiful 1.5-mile roundtrip hike to one of the most photographed spots in Arizona. Kids loved climbing to the top of the rock.

Fay Canyon -This is a easy 2.4-mile trail takes you through scenic Fay Canyon, located in one of the most beautiful areas of Sedona.

Devil’s Bridge - this trail is another popular trail in Sedona. It’s a easy 4-mile roundtrip hike from the Devil’s Bridge parking area at the end of the paved portion of Dry Creek Road.

The West Fork Trail at Oak Creek Canyon is an easy 6-mile out-and-back hike. It has so many little creeks . It’s super fun for younger kids that are looking to get their feet wet on small breaks.

  • If you have more time, here are some other things to do in Sedona:

  • Go mountain biking. We haven’t done that but I’d love to do this next time we visit.

  • Soldier Pass trail is one trail we haven’t seen, but we hope next time we get to check it out. It’s one of the most interesting hikes in the Sedona area. Key sites here are the massive Devil's Kitchen Sinkhole, along with the beautiful Seven Sacred Pools, an important religious site for the local Indigenous population.

  • Bell Rock Pathway Trail: easy - 3.6-mile out and back

  • Doe Mountain Trail: moderate - .4-mile out and back

  • Boynton Canyon Trail: moderate - 6-mile out and back

  • Papago park in Phoenix - We saw so many different cactuses, butterflies, flowers, kids loved climbing the big rock .

  • Enjoy a day trip to the Grand Canyon.

We had so much fun at the Grand Canyon. I loved the desert view watchtower. It was a great opportunity to see beautiful views and take plenty of wonderful pictures.

We can’t wait to come back!!! Here are some photos we took while on our vacation.
